I made my latest cake for my mother-in-law Karen's birthday. The inspiration came from
this entry on iambaker's blog. I love how fancy the rose swirls look, yet they are still simple. I decided to add a second tier and a fondant bow and pearls to finish it off. The cake was a 6 inch tier and a 3 inch tier, so I made some cupcakes to make sure there was enough to go around. We brought it into her work and it was a hit! I also got to use my fun black cake stand that my hubs got me for my birthday this year. Hurrah!
hi stacey! the cake and cupcakes are both so pretty! i really do love the rose swirl design. im looking forward to trying it myself. u mentioned the cake tiers was 6 inch and 3 inch. is that the height u were talking about or is that the dimension of the cake pans? im pretty new at cake baking so i was just wondering. ReplyDeleteHello! The 6" and 3" are the size of the cake pans...my cake stand is only 7" in diameter so I wanted it to fit. :) But you could still use any sizes that you want. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI love your cake!!! It's beautiful!!! I love doing Rose swirl cakes but this is a lovely new idea. Can I ask you how you placed the top tier without spoiling the Rose swirls on the cake underneath?? Did you have to refrigerate the cake??
